Phil Combs Takes Over as Basketball Coach

Phil CombsPhil Combs, son of longtime coach Ron Combs, has been named head coach of the SVCA Patriot basketball team. Phil, a graduate of SVCA, was named NACA Player of the Year in 1996. Also a star soccer player, he earned an athletic scholarship to Liberty University but later returned to Winchester to attend Shenandoah University. Phil was assistant coach to the Shenandoah Hornets after graduating college before returning to the SVCA boys soccer program where he lead the Patriots to two NACA championships through 2008. We are pleased to have Phil return home to SVCA and the Patriots!
