The Upper School at SVCA consists of grades 6 through 12. Using ABeka, Bob Jones Press, and Alpha Omega Publications, the Upper School has eight class periods of approximately 48 minutes each throughout the day.
In addition to their standard class schedules, SVCA students are permitted to participate in dual-enrollment at Lord Fairfax Community College. Because of this relationship that SVCA has established with LFCC, many SVCA graduates have had as many as 60 college credits when graduating from high school.
To graduate, a senior student must have earned 25 to 29 credits depending on their course of study in grades 9 through 12. Students graduating from SVCA will be awarded one of the following diplomas depending on the types of courses taken: general, academic, honors, or vocational.
The Upper School day begins at 8:15 am and concludes at 3:15 pm.
