Admission Procedures

STEP 1:

This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Review our Information Packet including our School Handbook, which should allow you to become aware of Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy's educational philosophy of educating your child.

STEP 2:

Schedule a Tour and Information Session. Once you have read our school handbook and have made the decision to pursue your child's enrollment at SVCA, please call the Marketing, Development & Admissions Office at 540.868.4046 to schedule a tour and information session. We will use this time to see the school as well as discuss the programs that we have available for your student. Please bring the following items with you:

  • A copy of the student's most recent report card.  This applies to transfer students & home-schooled students.

STEP 3:

Receive an Application Packet. During the tour and information session, you will be given an application packet for your family. To schedule an Admissions Interview with a SVCA administrator, you will need to return the following items to the Office of Marketing and Development:

  • Completed application packet
  • The student's most recent standardized test scores
    • If standardized test scores within 18 months of the date of application are not available, diagnostic testing must be administered by SVCA prior to the Parent-Student Interview. The fee for this test is $30 and must be paid prior to the testing date.
  • $100 application fee

Please note that an interview will not be scheduled until all paperwork is returned.

STEP 4:

Schedule an Admissions Interview. A SVCA administrator will interview the parent(s) and the student. If the student is above the third grade level, the student is required to attend the interview. This will be an opportunity to discuss specific spiritual and educational needs of the student and how SVCA can meet those needs. There are times that we may require additional information or placement testing results before informing the parents of the acceptance decision.

STEP 5:

Complete Registration. Once your student's acceptance into SVCA is decided, you have 10 days to please complete and return the following to the School Office:

  • Enrollment Contract
  • Financial Worksheet
  • Pay Enrollment Fees
  • Register with eCashier if using FACTS Tuition Managment Plan
  • Emergency "Alert" Contact Information Form
  • Student Emergency Information Form (per student)
  • Transcript Request Form
  • Kindergarten Physical (if entering K5)
  • Up-to-date immunization records
  • An "Original, Certified Copy" of the student's birth certificate
    • A copy will be made of the birth certificate, and the original will be returned

After 10 days, your student's enrollment will not be guaranteed. Once the registration information has been received, you will receive documentation from SVCA to verify your student's enrollment. If applicable, SVCA will be responsible for requesting official transcripts from the student's current school. Once your student is enrolled in the school, they may be asked to undergo a series of diagnostic testing to determine how well they will perform at the current grade level. In addition, your student will receive the necessary information specific for their grade.
