Home Advancement Giving to SVCA

Giving to SVCA Print

SVCA does not receive public funding; consequently, the school is completely dependent on tuition and the support of generous donors to keep the Academy financially strong. The following options may be used to give your tax deductible contributions:

Annual Fund
Typically, tuition only covers 85% of the annual operating costs. SVCA is no exception. A pledge to the annual fund provides the added revenue we need to meet our annual operating costs.

SVCA Board members, Administrators, and Staff are already giving to the Annual Fund as a statement of their devotion to the Academy. We are now calling on Parents, Grandparents, Alumni and friends of Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy to make pledges and give as well.  Contributions are fully tax deductible.

Teacher Salary Endowment Fund
GOAL $500,000
The heart of our school is our teaching staff. We have and want to maintain excellence in our academics.

We must be prepared to provide adequate salaries and benefits that allow our teaching staff to meet the cost of living in our area. In an effort to meet these demands while keeping enrollment costs affordable, Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy has started our Teacher Salary Endowment Fund through the Community Foundation of the Northern Shenandoah Valley.

An Endowment Fund receives tax deductible contributions that remain in the fund with only the interest earnings being distributed to support teachers salaries. Donors give money or property to SVCA with the stipulation that it be invested so that the principal remains intact. The compound interest from that intact investment is used annually to supplement the salaries of our teachers.

The long term endowment goal for SVCA’s Teacher Salary fund is $500,000. Interest earned from the intact principal will be used to increase our teachers salaries by 10% a year over a three year period. At that point, SVCA will be among the top 3% of the nation in Christian School Teacher’s salary.
