Join us for the 1st Annual Apple Bud 5Km race on Saturday, April 12 on the campus of SVCA. The day's events include a 1 mile walk, the 5 Km race, and Kids' runs. Cash prizes for the 5Km run and medals will be awarded for the Kids' runs. For more information, download the race registration form. | Class of 2010 Offers Memory Trees |
|
Plant a living memorial in honor or in memory of a special person, a special date, or in memory of your childs special days at SVCA! A limited number of 3-year-old (1-2 foot) Austrian Pines will be planted as a wind/sound screen along the I81 side and along Rt. 11 on the South side of the SVCA/SVBC campus. Trees will be labeled with memory and/or honor information with a simple metal plant marker. Tree planting day is Saturday, April 5th, 2008 from 9 am to 1 pm (Rain date is Saturday, April 12th, 2008) If you choose to plant you own please join us on campus armed with a shovel and a water jug. If you would like your tree to be planted for you, there will be an additional $5.00 charge per tree. Detailed planting instructions, trees, mulch, water and water retention root dip will be provided. Any tree that does not survive for one year will be replaced at no cost. Please complete the form below and return it in the school office along with cash or a check made out to SVCA Class of 2010. Trees will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis so return this form ASAP. If you have any questions, please contact Kim Nemec at 540.665.8225.

| Parents In Action Launches New Website |
Check it out --- www.svcapia.net! You wonīt want to miss this. Itīs a great way to stay involved with the Parents In Action organization at SVCA. Specifically, check out the plans for this yearīs Auction and Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 10 (not March 8) at Newtown Commons in Stephens City. Itīs a day full of food, KidZone bounces and games. The Silent Auction will begin at 11 am and the live at 1 pm. Volunteers are needed the day of the event, but more importantly volunteers are needed prior to the event to help solicit for donations. The PIA meets the fourth Tuesday of each month in the cafeteria from 6:45-8:00 pm. For more information about SVCA's Parents In Action organization contact Staci Sampson.

| SVCA Annual Auction and Family Fun Day A Great Success |

The the morning rain and the threat of afternoon rain didn't keep SVCA families and the community from joining us for the SVCA Annual Auction and Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 10 at Newtown Commons in Stephens City . The silent auction began at 11 am and the live auction at 1 pm. This year approximately $8,000 was raised for SVCA. Thanks to everyone for their support of this annual event. Join us this summer for SummerQuest, SVCA's fun summer day camp. Each week has a different theme that will keep your kids engaged in learning and activity all summer long. Field trips, swimming, crafts, and activities are an integral part of our SummerQuest program. SummerQuest offers half-day and full-day programs, and it also offers parents the option of enrolling for one week, all summer long, or any length of time in between. Families with multiple children are also eligible for discounts on our full-day programs. | Double-Feature Set for Spring Drama Production |

Join us for the SVCA drama class's spring performances on Friday and Saturday, May 30 and 31 at 7 pm. This double-feature evening includes circumstances including attempted burglary and a bothersome brother in Man of the House and The Pampered Darling. Prices are $6 Adults, $4 Students, children three and under are free! Snacks will be provided. Reservations are recommended but walk-ins are welcome! With open enrollment at SVCA beginning on March 1, prospective parents and their children are invited to attend one of SVCA's Spring Open Houses. March 14 - School-wide Open House, 9:30-11:00 am March 11 - Kindergarten Open House, 9:00-10:30 am April 11 - Kindergarten Open House, 9:00-10:30 am May 9 - Kindergarten Open House, 9:00-10:30 am Children are encouraged to attend all Open Houses with their parents. If you are not able to attend one of the Open Houses, please call 540.868.4046 or email Allison Combs to schedule a campus tour.

| My Dad...My Hero - Our 2008 Father-Daughter Banquet |

Join us Friday, February 29 at 7 pm for our 2008 Father-Daughter Banquet - My Dad...My Hero. This semi-formal evening is a great opportunity for dads to treat their daughter to something special. The evening includes dinner (salad, chicken, wild rice, green beans, assorted desserts) entertainment and much more. The Father-Daughter Banquet is open to the community. | Run the Race - Leave Your Mark |

Join Union Ave. Band and speaker Randy Hogue on Thursday, May 1 from 5:30-8:30 at the SportsPlex in Winchester for `Impact 540: Run the Race-Leave Your Mark.` All students in grades 5-12 throughout the area are invited. Other activities will include a joust arena and a velcro wall from KidZone Entertainment and a video game tourney by Play-N-Trade of Front Royal. Randy will also be speaking at SVCA on Monday, April 28 at 8:20 am and 7 pm and Wednesday, April 30 at 8:20 am. For more information about the SportsPlex event, call 540.868.2200. | First Annual Sportsman's Banquet on February 9 |

SVCA will host the First Annual Sportmans Banquet on Saturday, February 9 at 6 pm in the schoolīs gymnasium. The guest speaker will be Mike Price, president and founder of Shenandoah Valley Outdoors TV show (www.svoutdoors.net). Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at the school office.
